Community Based Social Marketing Program
HLFPPT has commenced its operations in Bihar in 2001 with the implementation of the community based social marketing programme in the four identified high priority districts. This programme was based on the design of the community based social marketing programme and over the three years 2004-2007 marketed 11 million condoms and 952,640 lakh cycles of oral pills through a community based social marketing network of 1600 Tarang partners located in 4200 villages of the districts of Patna, Vaishali, Saran and Samastipur. The 4200 villages represent 70% of villages and 80% of the rural population of these four districts. The community based social marketing network has been able to make deep inroads to the interior villages and been able to gain credibility of operation through the last seven years operation.

HLFPPT has been implementing the NACO supported social marketing programme in eleven districts of Bihar. This project over the four month has covered 6000 villages, opened 8000 outlets and attained a sale of 5.8 million condoms, 1.5 lakh cycles of OCP. This marketing programme is operated through a network of 28 stockists, 6400 retailers and 1600 Tarang partners serviced by a team of 2 Area Managers, 25 Field Sales Officers and 12 promotion staff.

HLFPPT has linkages with over 14 NGOs working on various health programmes and on ground execution of marketing programmes. HLFPPT has been collaborating lead institutions in Bihar like CCF, Pathfinder, UNICEF-Bihar and other health related NGOs operating at the district level.

VCTC and PPTCT project
HLFPPT has implemented the mobile VCTC and PPTCT projects in Saharsha and Muzzafarpur districts respectively. This project was conducted in collaboration with some NGOs in the two districts. This experience of HLFPPT was shared with the Govt of Bihar and they have scaled up such activities in other districts of Bihar.

Technical support to UNICEF
HLFPPT has implemented the IMNCI (Integrated Management of Newborn and Childhood Illnesses) training programme of UNICEF in four districts of Bihar. Through these programme, all the ICDS staffs of Muzzafarpur, Patna, Vaishali and Samastipur were provided residential training on issues- MCH, RCH etc. All the activities under these programme was implemented strictly as per the standard prescribed by UNICEF-Bihar.
 
 
Early detection of pregnancy made easy for women in rural and remote areas through 5 lakh ASHAs in the country through pregnancy test cards.

Increased access to condoms through 10000 JOSH condom vending machines.

10,212 women reached delivered through 16 Merry Gold Franchise Clinics

125 women accessed quality ANC and delivery services in Rs.999 through an innovative health insurance scheme.
