Mobile Health Clinic - Schedule

The Mobile Health Van visits the villages in the district as per a regular and fixed route plan i.e. a permanent journey cycle plan using Operations Research techniques by minimizing cost, maximizing access and covering areas with poor primary health care services. The van provides services at fixed service delivery points (FSDP) in the villages within the districts. The FSDP’s are located in a village, from where at least 10-12 villages surrounding it can be served by the van. The location of the FSDP is such that, it is convenient for villagers from these neighboring villages to come and avail the services. In this way the van covers at least 10-15 FSDP’s in a month and make repeat visits to the FSDP within a quarter, thus ensuring regular services.

Van Crew
The crew in the van consists of 2 Doctors (Preferably one male and one female), 2 Nurses, 1 Lab attendant, 1 paramedic/ pharmacist (Van supervisor) and 1 IEC Assistant/Outreach Worker.

IEC Activities
Moreover, the van also undertakes special IEC activities on different health themes in each quarter to highlight health related issues. These include conducting video shows, mobilizing village children to do nukkad nataks, healthy baby shows, model couples, healthy family competitions etc. IEC activities are conducted to promote health-seeking behaviour and improve health care utilization rates among these underserved populations.
